Imagine if your entire team could present like that! Present Like a Pro is an advanced presentation skills training programme, specifically developed for teams of business professionals. Delegates will learn the skill sets and mindsets required to become calm and confident presenters, be it online or off (watch our video testimonials).

How can participants learn?

Working with a highly experienced trainer (either in person or virtually), in this tailored public speaking course your team will be coached into designing and developing clear, concise and well-constructed presentations, which are therefore easier to deliver with impact.

Where can your teams apply their new skills?

Business presentations online and off e.g. boardroom presentations, pitching internal ideas, webinars, technical presentations, conference presentations, customer proposals and sales presentations, internal meetings, investment pitches, keynote speeches and more… (Where applicable, you’ll learn the principles of virtual presenting and for in-depth training on the subject, see our Virtual Presenting course).

How does the programme work?

You can choose whether participants meet their trainer in person, or the training is done virtually for between 2-6 delegates. (For larger delegate numbers we can provide multiple trainers. Or learn more about our webinar training options).

  • Face to face: 1 day (Including all Parts 1-5)
  • Virtual: 4 x 90-minute live and interactive webinar training (Including all Parts 1-5)
  • 1 post training video review per participant with feedback from trainer
  • Workbooks, exercises, practise and self-study materials to support and embed learning
  • Delegates will receive the book High Performance Presentations by Dee Clayton, which will enable them to learn more on the themes, plus supporting materials.

Optional extras: Ideal for face to face and virtual learners (Part 6): live post-training reviews via web calls. 

Choose from either:

  • 1 x team session where peers and the trainer review each final presentation
  • Or for more individual and focussed support, a one to one video call per participant with the trainer
  • Depending on participant numbers, the format of live reviews will be tailored accordingly

Here’s the course breakdown:

Part 1 – Who is your audience and what motivates them?

Delegates complete some pre-work using the ‘Audience In Mind’ workbook (hard copy or e-version available). This helps them get into the mind of the listener and understand their needs and motivations – invaluable when it comes to designing their presentation. They will apply what they learnt about Personality Styles in Stage One if they studied that, making sure the audience is motivated to follow the call to action.

Part 2 – How do I create a presentation with a powerful start?

In this next step we teach delegates how to begin their presentation with a bang, so the audience is engaged from the outset. We want the audience to put their phones and laptops aside so they can concentrate fully on the presentation. We’ll take delegates through the first stages of the Simply Amazing Structure (SAS). In the LITTLE INTRO they will discover how to frame the presentation for success, build rapport, and position themselves as credible speakers. In the WHY section they will learn how to motivate the audience to listen, be open minded and engage.

Part 3 – How do I inspire action?

Most people create content and then think about how to inspire action, but here at Simply Amazing Training we know it works far better the other way around. So before delegates start developing their content, we’ll look at the HOW section of the Simply Amazing Structure. What is the call to action? Do we want our audience to buy something, support an idea, or share our information with others? This means that when delegates go on to create their content in Part 4, it will be perfectly tailored to the desired action.

Part 4 – How do I create powerful content?

Delegates who studied at Stage One will recognise this topic, but we go into much more depth here. Your team will learn how to structure their presentations, select the best content and make their messages clear and simple. No more mind blank moments, no more bored audiences! They will learn and practise the WHAT section of the Simply Amazing Structure, dividing their content into logical flowing information that influences, persuades and takes the audience with them step by step. They will discover how to engage the listener and get them involved so it’s more of a two-way conversation than a lecture.

Part 5 – How do I answer questions and overcome objections?

A good presenter will ensure the audience has understood what has been said and make them feel comfortable enough to speak up. Learning how to answer questions – and predicting what they might be – is an important part of planning a presentation (but because we encourage delegates to have thought about their audience in advance, hopefully all obvious questions have been answered before they are even asked). Also delegates will discover how to encourage the audience to raise any objections before they fester or worse still, get talked about in the corridor after the presentation – we ensure they learn how to get their chance to address any audience issues early.

Whether delegates are doing the virtual or face to face training, they will be invited to show what they’ve learnt throughout the programme in a short finale review video. The trainer will provide constructive feedback and highlight next steps.

Part 6 – How do I continue to improve?

This section is a highly recommended optional extra. This is where it all comes together – time for your team to practice and embed everything they’ve learnt. They will deliver a final presentation in a live web call to their trainer. They will receive constructive feedback on the structure and delivery of their presentation, plus a detailed plan for their next steps so they can continue to improve even after the course has finished. This can either be done individually giving the benefit of confidentiality with the trainer or with peers present giving the benefit of group learning and support.
