Well I’m going to take 50 team members step by step through a goal setting process that will increase the chances of them achieving their goals. And whilst the topic may not be exactly presentation skills, there is a whole chapter dedicated to goal setting in my presentation skills and public speaking book, because it is so important to speaking success.
Improving your presentation skills (or any skill) is a journey. With a goal in mind you get the motivation and energy to start and continue on your journey. A goal gives you focus and helps you to prioritise on the right things for you. A goal also helps you to review and measure your success and achievements against milestones. All too often, especially with the enthusiasm of new year behind them, people make a huge list of things they want to achieve, but end up not achieving any! That’s why I believe goal setting is so important – whether it’s about improving your presentation skills or anything else you want to achieve.
But then why don’t many people do it, and why do so many people fail to achieve their goals?
I want to share a free 20 minute audio recording, that you can download to your “personal device” of choice, I share with you some top tips on how can you best ensure you’ll set and follow through on your goals for 2014 (presentation skills related or not). And I cover the “7 deadly sins which destroy goal setting success”.
Happy New Year and here’s to you setting and achieving your goals. Watch out for the next recording coming soon in this goal setting series.
